As summer gets into high gear with July’s arrival, I have a question for you. Do you wear the same makeup now as you did in the wintertime? If you change your makeup, why? And which ones do you like?
No matter what our age, most of us use some kind of make-up (aka foundation) to “face” the world outside. There are as many types and colors of makeup as ages and skin types, but normally we like to find something that works for us and stick to it. However, as the seasons change and the temperature rises, the makeup that worked so beautifully in the winter may seem greasy and sticky. Time to change it up!
My winter makeup right now is Clinique Even Better Makeup.
The liquid formula is perfect for my T-zone aging-but-still-prone-to-breakout skin, and it evens out my skin tone without the heaviness of some makeups out there. Clinique, of course, is available just about everywhere, offers gifts on a regular basis, and is great for sensitive skin. Over the years I have used many of their products and still do, however I am not one of those people who buys every product from one line (is there anyone out there who does this anymore?); I pick and choose what is best for me at the time. Don’t get stuck in a rut, for makeup or anything else!
So-I’m humming along, pulling the Even Better out of my makeup bag in the morning, when one day the liquid just didn’t feel right; in fact it felt greasy, and just sat there on top of my skin. Time for a change!
Hello Flawless, by Benefit , is my choice for summer this year. Even though Benefit advertises to younger women, I use, and recommend for all ages, several of their products, including the liquid blush. Hello Flawless also comes in a liquid, but since the idea is to leave the liquid for the winter, I chose the powder form. It is smooth on the skin and covers without being heavy, AND, included in the cute little compact are two applicators; a sponge for heavier more dense coverage, and a brush for lighter coverage. The best of both worlds! I understand it is also now available with SPF 15, for additional sun protection. Benefit Cosmetics are available at Sephora and Ulta, just to name a couple, and of course online.
Thanks for reading! What is your favorite summer makeup? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
